The Wisniewski Teacher Education Award of The Society of ProfessorsThe Technology and Teacher Education Program Area received the Wisniewski Teacher Education Award for creating the Collaborative for Innovation in Teacher Education from the Society of Professors, an organization started by John Dewey in 1910. The Wisniewski Teacher Education Award of The Society of Professors of Education (SPE) is presented annually to recognize and honor an outstanding teacher education program at a college or university. The purpose of the Award is to honor an institution which has made a significant contribution to the theory and practice of teacher education. The Wisniewski Award recognizes particularly on the Collaborative's integration of theory and practice, strength of foundational study, and effective innovation in the field of teacher education.
